About the event

It's the Prohibition era, around 1921, when the 18th Amendment enforced a nationwide ban on alcohol production, importation, transportation, and sale. This period, lasting from 1920 to 1933, saw social upheaval and the rise of organized crime profiting from the underground alcohol market. Speakeasies, hidden bars defying the law, became popular urban venues for drinking and socializing. The jazz age thrived, with music and dance central to nightlife. The era featured a cat-and-mouse game between law enforcement and those evading it, sparking debates on morality, individual freedom, and government regulation. This chapter of history reveals cultural shifts and the eventual repeal of prohibition, reshaping American society.
